This reminds me of the time in primary school when at the last minute I had no glue for the project due tomorrow, made some with my mum. The project was a success, until when I got it back after being displayed for a time the mould was growing through all my pictures. My kids were horrified when I recently shared this story with them. I think it’s hilarious. Wonder what the teacher thought? cheers Kate
Oh I love it!! That is a funny story :) I most certainly remember those last minute projects on big squares of coloured cardboard. The splash of vinegar seems to keep the mould away with this one ;) Hope you have a gorgeous week. Steph x
Steph… wonderful to again see you flying the “simple life” banner again with this, (to me), new blog… the accompanying poetic narratives are inspiring. Thank you.
This is a great and simple mindset. I’m really paring our meals back to very basic, simple and nourishing. Saving the fancy stuff for a couple of times a year we dine out. Good food done simply and with love. Cheers Kate
Thanks Kate! It’s funny how our palates have changed too. The closer it is to the earth, the more we seem to enjoy it. Bravo to you for adopting this way of preparing and eating food. Wishing you a wonderful week. Steph :) xx
Beautiful writing Steph. I found your website again whilst enjoying my morning cuppa in the stillness of the morning. I wished it were a book, and I could snuggle on the couch with a warm blanket and read whilst listening to the morning birdsong. Thanks for the inspiration for simplicity xo
Hello, beautiful soul! I have been thinking of you and just like magic, you appear here. Wishing you much calm and strength as we navigate these uncertain times. Thank-you so very much for your kind words. You have painted a beautiful image of your autumn morning. Thank-you! xxx
Hello lovely Leah! They really are a beautiful thing to make. We purchase our beeswax from a local Steiner store in Hobart (Lyrebird) and she is happy to do orders over the phone. We have also purchased a little set from Dragonfly Toys (online) in the past. Wishing you a beautiful end to your week and much joy on your candle making adventures. Thanks for walking a while here. xx
Hi Steph, I’ve just read your fantastic tips in the bathroom. I’m going to go back to a bar of soap after reading it. For many years now, I’ve used a plastic bottle soap dispenser. I wasn’t aware that you could recycle toothbrushes , toothpaste tubes and lid. I’ll do that too. Any little change that can help the environment is a great big one.
Hi Robyn! Thanks so much for your lovely comment. I’m so thrilled to hear that some small changes feel achievable in your bathroom. I’d love to know how you go. Wishing you a wonderful week. xx

I would love to make these with my children, do you have somewhere reputable that you purchase the wax from that you care to share?
